Hello, I have installed 5.0.3 gen c and my psp stopped reading UMD, so I changed the UMD ISO MODE to normal and it started reading UMD, but after trying to watch an ISO movie, it stopped working again, now it can't read any UMD.

I restored the psp to ofw 5.0.3, but it can't read any umd either, I think the gen-c damaged the flash of my psp or overwrite something that damaged the UMD.

I hope you have a solution to fix this problem, I want to play my umd games again.

If you really guess that 5.03 GEN-C damaged your flash, update to 6.20 TN and return to 5.03.

There's no point upgrading to 6.20 to then downgrade back to 5.03. Unless re-enstalling an official firmwre could fix the problem? You have nothing to lose actually and downgrading from 6.20 to 5.03 takes a few minutes.

I think you should just dump the umds you have and play them as iso files directly from the memory stick.

That's the whole point of installing a custom firmware on a psp... to play back ups, homebrews and add plugin support.

When the 5.03 GEN C for HEN is installed on your psp, does the umd slot still appears when you link the psp to the computer? I f yes, you can still dump your umds

I have a psp brite running cf 5.03 GEN C for HEN and have experienced problems to run some umds too. You can install the Promotheus add on for this cf and I'm 100 per 100 sure it will fix the problem

I can't dump my umds any longer, I went to the VSH Menu and I set "usb device" to "UMD Disc", then I went to USB Connection and the psp freezes.

It only freezes when the umd is inserted, when the umd is not inserted into the psp, it shows me the files on the MS.

I heard that downgrading from 6.20 to 5.0.3 may brick your psp, that's what I don't want to do that, although it may fix this problem.

personally, I would just go to 6.20 then. what is your reason for staying on 5.03?

Hen-D is just fine. you just need an external iso loader

5.03 GEN C for HEN is far more better than 6.20 TN

Higer compatibility with homebrew and plugins.

You can use Dax's Popsloader to run every single psx eboots.

Most emulators run at full speed.

You can run your latest games using Liquidzigong prometheus isotool to patch the iso.

And 5.03 GEN C for HEN has the 1.50 Kernel addon.

@User08 have you tried to format flash1? It may fix your problem

I haven't formatted flash1, I just returned to default settings, but it didn't fix it.
Do you use a PC to format flash1?
