From what I pieced together, the new security system relies on three things:

1) Check the RAM for unsigned modules;
2) Disable PSP functions commonly used by homebrew;
3) Improve DRM to check for unsigned code;

But more simply, HEN can't run on > 5.03 PSPs because Sony corrected the TIFF exploit (or more to the point, they disabled TIFF support). Until Team GEN finds another of those holes, no HEN. Besides, from what they said in 1), even if they found another exploit, it wouldn't be possible to just barge in with HEN because of the RAM check. A complete CFW (on flash, not on RAM), would be something easier, because GEN wouldn't allow those checks to run, of course.

6.10 has a known flaw (hence 6.10 typhoon) so i hope GEN can find one for a hen for it

Tiff crash found on 6.20 as of a few days ago, currently investigating with nameless partner who is in the scene

edit 5/16/2010: Crash is nothing more than a crash, will serve no good uses. New crash, possibly exploitable found by me in NAMELESS FOR A REASON game, look for more information on it later.

the more i think of it the more suspicious it gets. i don't really believe in psp code audit, but it might be true. sony was usually just fixing whatever came up, but not the bugs that weren't publicly disclosed.

it's more likely they hired somebody who was familiar with various nonpublic exploits, and internals of psp.

also, there were reports that new internal structure of new firmware is highly incompatible with current homebrew. i don't really know about it, but it surely made me think that person that did this was quite familiar with low-level programming and homebrew psp sdk.

Depends on how you describe HEN. What Typhoon showed was running an emulator, unsigned code, on a PSP GO. Either this is not the purpose of HEN or Im not clearly understanding on you interpretation. Do you think you could explain a bit better, your statement is a bit vague.

Typhoons HEN was on 6.10.

Apparently, on the 6.20, there is a protection made by Sony able to auto-detect modules or files in the flash memory, not supposed to be here, like for a HEN, and able to brick the PSP.

Sony would not intentionally brick their own system. it probably just crashes.

The team GENyUS is continuously working on the CF or HEN, so maybe one day, all psp's can be free of those evil OFW hahaha.
