Hi all. Lets all put out minds together and come up with a fix for these 5.55 games.

first, lets choose 1 game to start with. I think everyone wants GT to work first.

What do we know.

The boot.bin is a dummy file.
The eboot.bin is encrypted with a new encryption for 5.55 firmware.
In other cracks (Soul Caliabur) they renamed the savegame dir and a few other files to avoid the MS check to get it working)
There is a new encryption key for 5.55. (0xD9160BF0)
SC and IL2 were both cracked via a decrypted or beta eboot.bin file. No real hacking done there.

Yup, "0xD9160BF0" is one of the strings that affects the loading of newer games in our old CFW. By changing this to "0xD9160AF0"... it will change the firmware requirement to 5.50 instead of 5.55. But, this is just one of those strings that should be edited in order to play newer games in 5.50 CFW.

That's the key for 5.55.
If we can change that then we can decrypt the eboot.bin files and edit it to let us patch it.

Is there a way to change the key of a file?

I'm not a noob at some stuff but still a noob at others. These keys I'm a real noob at. Still learning but it looks like next week I'll know all about it.

I know man. We can change that key in Hex Editors to 0xD9160AF0. So that it'll be changed to the 5.50 key. I've tried that with naruto akatsuki rising.

NOTE: By the way, when we open the eboot with a Hex Editor... instead of seeing this key as 0xD9160BF0, you should see this key as F0 0B 16 D9 00. You're right. It is inverted.

I did that, I changed the key and still no luck atm.

Coz its encrypted its hard to find the others spots to patch.

I think changing that only changes the name of the encryption, not the actual encryption of the file. If we can decrypt it then you can tell it what encryption to use.

Is there a decrypter that will decrypt the eboot.bin files? So far I've had no luck finding one that will do 5.50 files.

it would be easier if you have patched CFW installed on psp to give eboot's response that it is 5.55 if it is possible

That would be the easier way but I don't know how to do that. First we need the full dump of 5.55 or 6.00 and ATM there are no PSARDumpers that can do it.

Yea, sorry. I've been really stressed lately and not having a good time with all the fake news going on. I should've really believed it here as cant get any better than the real source.
This is great. I was trying to do something like this a month ago and got flamed wherever I went so its great someone actually made it.
